Right! So you're welcome to my video blog about cars.
i forgot you britts put the brake levers on the wrong side
I'm looking forwards to 'feel-o-vision'... for use in watching people building bikes of course.
What’s about the beautiful 996 Porsche in the Back ? New video content ? Who agree ?
True. My bike didn't have a side stand so if there was no wall to lean it against I just lay it down on the floor when I had to break from riding for some time.
When there's piano jazz music, you know James May is assembling something.
shimano components are really scarce resources these days.
Is it normal in the UK to have the right brake lever control the front brake? I know this is the motorbike standard. However, in the US, the right lever controls the rear brake.
nice table
FOURTH HAND TOOL
make clarkson ride a motorbike, i want to see how it goes lol
They should have gotten proper pedals for the kid. The pedals that come with bikes are plastic trash. They're safety hazard.
Bet Jezza just needs a hammer to put that all together
Did I miss the part where you welded the frame?
When fitting the pedals ALWAYS double check they're not crossed threaded before tightening with a spanner.
The cable puller tool... That would have made my bikemending back in the day quite a lot easier.. *heading for ebay to get one*-
I do I own a chopper bike mk 3

I put the stand on because I can’t be bothered not to leave it because I treasure my bike
how about assembling a 3D printer next ? a proper prusa i3 build, after that, print a miniature toy car
To stop brake rub you need to align the caliper by loosening the two post mount bolts slightly so the caliper can move and then spin the wheel and apply the brake Keeping the brake applied torque them to spec along with the cable adjustments it will be perfect
James, this is dull even for you 😢
BRING BACK THE REASSEMBLER!
Little tip James and for anyone who’s reading, if you fit the seat post and saddle first, you can then use the seat post to clamp in the bike stand and then not risk damaging the paint work on the frame and also not pinch or obstruct and of the cables to the derailleur.
Thank you James, for perfectly illustrating exactly why building a bicycle should be left to a professional. The number of things wrong is truly appalling.
Are the handlebars upside down? That disk brake caliper mount still needs adjustment. This is making my eye twitch
May u do the review on the HRC CBR1000RR-R plz plz thx
Some years ago, James was biking around London with an orangutan on some sort of car show on BBC. I seem to remember James saying something like, “ it’s easy bicycle maintenance, you only need a couple of spammers and a screwdriver”. Yet, he has all those special James May-ish tools..
next James builds ebike
I mean, it is an improvement to the gocycle
Now you can go and set the speed record like SSC TUATARA with this bike. Just get the right GPS equipment.
Two things: 1 the bars need to be rotated forwards so that the bar sweeps upwards and backwards, not down. 2 the front brake disc is on backwards. Also you can get easily adjust the brakes by pulling them fully on at the lever, then slackening the bolt on the caliper just enough so you can pull through enough cable that the lever is in perfect position for your hands. You then only use the barrel adjusted to take up also in the cable and wear in the pads.
I’ve just done a review on a Porsche 996 turbo on my channel. I’d really appreciate any feedback and advice!
Yes! Been waiting for this!
1:12 oooh, park tool fifth hand?
I see a problem. The tires are too high up. It'll never ride properly like that.
Really love this! Like the re-assembler. Would love to see the 3 hour uncut live version... Just fantastic!
James I know you like the countach I have a massive story about countach reg : B967MLN please contact me on Spoonersoutings@outlook.com thanks hope to her from you
Why does James have such a big garage ?
Since part 1 I bought new tyres, inner tubes and tyre levers. Now I’m just in time for some more tips!
James May is Bob Ross of wrenching
We need a James May / GCN crossover.
Bikes of that price generally do have grumbly bearings!! 😂
Anyone get the feeling that James just narrates every part of his life, even when the cameras aren’t on?
James it sounds like you have got tennis elbow in your arm like I have had!! (Caused by trauma like you not playing tennis!)
Build a bike - if you can buy one.
👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
I thought you died in Albania
James May, the front brake disc rotor is the WRONG way round!! Please correct this for safety reasons.

@Ben T. Its weaker. Hence the manual will tell you it is directional.
I love the shirt
The problem with those brake lines is that the Front is going to the right instead of the left.
The least you should do appreciate the comments you don't have to answer all of them but at least a thumbs up, many deserve something, don't you think those who comment also like a little appreciation...capish cabeza de pinga.(:
I guess I'm a pervy bike mechanic like James then
Easy on those pedals! 😄🤦♂️ just snug James 👍
I’d rather get a better look at that Honda f4i and fireblade in the background
fun fact : cheap suspension is a pogo stick :)
James May was born at the age of 5 years old, and had built his first jet engine by age of 11.
the handle bars are on the wrong side and its picking on me
Is the front disc fitted the right way round James? There should be an arrow for direction of rotation! Looks wrong to me!
Congratulations James, you can assemble a new child’s bike straight out of the box.
Right, now have send the jumps
BOOOORIIIINNNG
jep that's exactly what I say to the car drivers as well, and now if they complain, I'll tell them to take it up with James May from Top Gear !!!
never in my life have I been as riveted as I am now
Maybe May's 5 favorite tools he owns and 5 he regrets buying?
More!
Front rotor is on backwards
If we ever do get Feel-O-Vision, this is the last channel I'll ever watch.
May please can you show us a collection of your cycles?? Really want to know if your cool enough to be in the pinarello club like me 😆
James shows us his new Tee Shirt...
Shakey Weightlifting is the finest euphemism for wanking I have ever heard.
You must install the wheel with the bike on the floor standing straight and not on the bike stand, all that brake adjustment is a waste!
brilliant...
People build up wheels, install bottom brackets and build up a whole bike in one video. Why 3 parts

Was worried about that cable for the past week...
0:54 I help you setup a blog and setup it to earn money W ha ts app +7 9 6 7 1 5 7 0 5 8 1
Can't believe i waited a whole 2 weeks for this! Lol
Anything James May is BRILLIANT
Matthew yes 👍 🚵♂️
The front disc brake is still the wrong way round.
You don’t need to undo the clamp you just need to loosen the bolt and squeeze the brake and tighten the bolts if you want more advice go to gmbn on NOlocal
James, the front disk is mounted wrong, see the one on the back that is mounted right.
So many things wrong in this assembly and setup.
Never never never clamp a bike in a workstand by the frame. First thing when assembling a bike is put the seatpost in, so that can be used to clamp it in the workstand.
james. when it's once again safe to travel, come to ontario, canada. bring your mountain bike and your road bike, and we can ride. plenty of great routes for both bikes. i suspect our speed, style and enthusiasm would coincide.
I'm afraid that with this rhythm the bike will be ready for that kid's kid! :D
Awesome job sir, like pervy brake tool. Now, ya just need a teen stig test thrashing ride.
On mechanical disc brakes the actuator arm should be set all the way out with the barrel nut in the middle. Usually the stack is adjusted with the pads. You tighten the pads down or just touching with the arm all the way out and no slack then adjust the pads. Fine tune with the barrel nut. If you just use the barrel nut eventually you run up on the stop. When you squeeze the brake it hits the stop and no brakes!
Why no hydraulic brakes James? It's not 1995 anymore lol
I certainly do have that tool, which makes me a "pervy bike mechanic" I suppose. I'm not sure why watching someone assemble a bicycle is entertaining, but apparently, it is.
CATFOOD MUST HAVE BEEN SAFE THEN XD
Did this really need to be split in 3 parts?
Can we get James May to react to Bottom Gear?
James working on this bike has showed me how to actually fix MY bike, all I have to do is get one...

4:50 ... The wobble on that front wheel, more adjustment required James!
As a Dutchman, the lack of grease and oil at this assembly tells me this bike won't last a year. Be surprised if it makes it through winter.
I would want James to make my bike
Build a pc wearing tank top like Henry Cavill
I kept focusing on fireblade on the garage
6:32 "Slacken the stem bolts, don't take them out entirely" was said with the same energy as "Flood the cowling, plenty of it"
